Jessica Stevens, PhD

Dr. Stevens received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego, CA. She is dedicated to helping individuals learn how to master symptoms associated with trauma, sexual assault and childhood abuse, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and pelvic pain (sexual pain). She also enjoys working with Women's mental wellness. The focus of her clinical training has been working with victims of trauma in adults, children, and couples, in hospitals, psychiatric facilities, transitional living centers, and in private practice settings. She is a member of the Trauma Research Institute, with extensive research work, and publications with Dr. Constance Dalenberg. She utilizes a wide range of therapeutic approaches such as CBT, ACT, CPT, MI, MBCT, and many other varied methods to most effectively assist each patient.

Dr. Stevens provides individuals with a safe, non-judgmental space to promote self-development learning and working through problems that interfere with living a meaningful, enriching life. Amid personal challenges, she provides a custom psychological approach which produces a framework for creating an individualized, therapeutic relationship that leads to strong, positive outcomes. Dr. Stevens helps individuals increase self-compassion, develop a sense of purpose, establish healthy relationships, and improve overall quality of life.

Errinn Bixby, PhD

Dr. Johnson received her PhD in School Psychology with a focus in Pediatric Psychology, from the University of Memphis, in Memphis, TN. She has trained and provided care in a variety of school and clinical settings, including children’s hospitals, primary care, developmental centers, specialty medical clinics, and private practice. Dr. Johnson is deeply committed to practicing cultural humility and providing culturally sound, affirming treatment in a collaborative, authentic, and gentle manner. She values working with children, adolescents, and adults of diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Dr. Johnson is also an Author of children's books for improving mental health with kids;

Dr. Johnson specializes in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders. She also specializes in parent training to help manage behavioral difficulties and improve parent-child relationships. She has been trained to provide treatment utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused-CBT, Family Systems, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. Dr. Johnson tailors each treatment plan to meet the needs and goals of every patient.

Dr. Galea graduated from San Diego University for Integrative Studies, with a specialization in Sports Psychology and Counseling. He has been dedicated to helping individuals excel both on and off the field of sport. Dr. Galea has focused on working with athletes, military (individuals and family members), executives, college students, and teens, who have struggled to overcome issues involved with depression, GAD (general anxiety disorder), issues effecting performance, career transition, PTSD, as well as substance abuse. The focus of his energy has been spent helping to equip others with the tools needed to control their lives and overcome the obstacles placed before them.

 

Dr. Galea will use a wide range of tools and therapeutic facets to help “empower” patients. Some of the tools he will use rest within Reality Therapy, CBT, MI, as well as ACT Therapy. In addition to his extensive training and experience, Dr. Galea ads unique experiences that provide added benefits to help those he works with. Two of the unique experiences Dr. Galea embodies rest in his thorough background in the areas of Clinical Trials, investigation and cognitive testing. These experiences coincide with Dr. Galea's deep passion for working with those suffering from TBI (Concussions). As such, he is the Co-Founder of one of the largest Concussion Testing programs in Southern California. Dr. Galea is also the Co-Founder of HeadSet Sports - a mental skills enhancement system for athletes and teams. This program is presently being used by elite recreational programs, athletic academies, NCAA programs, and professional teams.

Jason Galea, PhD

Dr. Cesario is bilingual in Spanish (se habla Español) and received her PsyD in Clinical Forensic Psychology at Alliant International University in San Diego, CA.  Dr. Cesario has dedicated much of her career to working with severely mentally ill populations in San Diego county areas. She has worked with at variety of outpatient settings including children’s clinics where she specialized in trauma care for kids who were victims of abuse and other traumas with Radys Children’s Hospital, Chadwick Center.  Dr. Cesario has also worked with several community clinics and underserved populations. 

 

Dr. Cesario specializes in treating adults and children with mood and anxiety disorders including Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and PTSD.  She also gained experience working with Military service members and with Women’s health (pelvic pain). She has been trained to provide therapy utilizing several treatment methods such as CBT, TF-CBT, ACT, MI and many other modalities. Dr. Cesario likes to meet clients where they are at and help clients achieve their short and long-term goals.  She likes to work with clients to make individualized treat plans so that clients can have a guide to being successful in therapy.

Kitzia Cesario, PsyD

Dr. Lim received her Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) and Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, from Southern California Seminary Graduate School of Behavioral Sciences. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Azusa Pacific University.

 

She has worked at several non-profit organizations, providing therapy to those who struggle with mental health and advocating for individuals with disabilities and their families to enhance quality of life. Using her experience as a coach for individuals and couples and facilitator in anger management groups, she aims to better individual, couples, and parenting, by increasing self-esteem and reconciling broken relations. She recently worked to provide spiritual and emotional care as a chaplain intern at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Dr. Lim is also bilingual in Korean.

 

Her approach includes cognitive-behavioral (CBT), motivational interview (MI), mindfulness, client-centered interview, existentialism, and Socratic questioning. Dr. Lim has been praised for her authenticity and genuine empathy along with accurate conceptualism to benefit her clients and their family. Dr. Lim is currently being trained in psychotherapy for women’s Pelvic Pain.

Hannah Lim, PsyD

Dr. Varela received her PsyD in Applied Clinical Psychology, from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, in Los Angeles, California. In the first year of providing clinical service, the focus was working with children ages 5-17 years old. She then continued on to include other populations such as: couples, families, social service referred parents and children, survivors of crimes, such as human trafficking and domestic violence survivors, and injured individuals involved in worker's compensation/personal injury cases. Dr. Varela has also facilitated anger and pain management groups. Working with PsychDoc, she has recently gained experience working with Military service members and with Women’s health and pelvic pain.

Dr. Varela also received an additional BA in Sociology from UCLA, Los Angeles, California. She utilizes the knowledge gained through that study to help incorporate social and cultural factors into the therapeutic work. Dr. Varela uses evidenced-based treatments which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused-CBT, Family Systems, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. Dr. Varela is also bilingual in Spanish.

 

Dr. Varela is dedicated to learning about each patient, working alongside them, helping empower them to work through challenges they face, helping them develop their core values and strengths, and change the things they are committed to changing.

Eve Varela, PsyD

Dr. Bicherova has received her PhD in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, from Bryansk State University. Having received an additional certificate in Communication from San Diego University for Integrative Studies, Dr. Bicherova is a compassionate professional who lends a hand to people suffering from PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other disorders. She has extensive experience mentoring adults, children, and families from different backgrounds using a strengths-based approach. Dr. Bicherova has helped many people find themselves by adhering to the principles of personality development. Working with PsychDoc, she has recently gained experience working with Military members and Women’s health, including new mothers, postpartum, and pelvic pain. She is currently obtaining training in CPT and ACT modalities.

She focuses on helping patients with emotional and mental health issues and improving their sense of well-being by using methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused-CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Dr. Bicherova has written over 60 scientific publications as well as co-authored the book “Foreign Language Teaching and Learning: New Research” / Ed. Terrell Welch. – Nova Science Publishers, Inc. (NOVA), New York, 2019. Dr. Bicherova is also bilingual in Russian.
 

Saving someone is not just an action that can be taken once and gotten over with, but the ability to become a shoulder to lean on is one of, if not the most, valuable skill Dr. Bicherova possesses.
